Grab the snowflakes, because “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” is officially back for its seventh season. The cast, known for their fiery fights and cliquey nature, will continue to entertain fans for another year.

Last season, the ladies ended on a sour note that is sure to impact the upcoming season. Nothing makes a friend group come together more than a play degrading the character of everyone in the group!

Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks were clearly on the outs with a clique involving all of the other cast members, essentially ruining the ending of the cast trip to Greece and causing problems for the upcoming reunion.

Basically, the last few seasons of the show lacked an essential plot line. The cast members were just there to fight with each other for 18 episodes, and then return home to their families for some well-deserved time off.

Instead of focusing on what made the Housewives franchise good in the first place, the snowflakes of Salt Lake City are focused on the drama.

Where we used to have fun, we now have chaos.

I love to watch the Housewives when I come home from a long day on campus. I used to find it relaxing! But the intensity of RHOSLC just leaves me stressed out now, and I genuinely can't find the time to fit it in my schedule.

And, honestly, I feel like that’s the exact reason why the show has lost the plot. While it used to be a fun, light-hearted show with occasional conflict, the conflict has now taken over.

Especially this season... where it's bound to get so much worse.

The Dark Side of RHOSLC

In the seventh season's premiere episode, viewers are immediately thrown into the aftermath of cast member Mary Cosby's son's overdose. The cast comes together in a heartwarming moment but, based on the trailer for the rest of the season, we can see that this peace doesn't last long.

Although the franchise is here for viewers to see the true lives of these ladies, this episode did nothing but make me feel bad for Mary. I couldn't stop asking myself, why is she even filming?

And the dark side doesn't stop there.

In the off season, it was reported that three of the cast members were going through divorces. In one single season, we're going to see Whitney Rose, Bronwyn Newport, and Angie Katsanevas try to navigate a post-divorce life while filming.

While it's easy to hope that these women will be able to come together and heal with each other, from what we've seen in the past, that's probably not going to happen.

At this point, I'm starting to believe we're never going to see any fun moments this season.

Why It's So Different Than Other Franchises

The biggest problem I’ve been noticing is the absence of the lighthearted moments that the other franchises are so used to bringing. While some of the most memorable moments of other franchises exist because of fights (Teresa Giudice's table flip, Lisa Rinna throwing wine at Kyle Richards, etc.), there always seems to be a moment after where the women come together.

Where’s the bonding?

Where are the friendships?

I feel like this problem is becoming more prevalent after the release of "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip" 20th anniversary season. This special edition showed some of the most iconic housewives getting together to visit the cities of several franchises, meeting up with cast members along the way.

We got to see a White Party in Beverly Hills where Countess Luann flew in before her performance. Genuinely, how does it get better than that?

While there were conflicts between the ladies, the main goal of the season was to have fun with each other and celebrate the franchise. Friendships were built and tested, old bonds were renewed, and past conflicts and traumas were resolved.

That's what viewers want to see. Not constant fights and no resolutions.

While "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" has entertained since 2020, I feel it's time to revisit what made this franchise special in the first place moving forward:

Outlandish personalities.

Moments that you would never see on another franchise (ahem, the Beauty Lab and Laser arrest?)

And sprinter vans.

We're going to need a lot more sprinter vans.
